Govt school teachers seek pay hike

Members of the Sarkari Schools Ph.D Adhayapak Front, Punjab, today assembled at Muktsar to chalk out a strategy to build pressure upon the state government to give them three increments recommended by the Pay Commission, Punjab.
They also demanded special promotion for eligible Ph.D degree holders or the government announces 25 per cent reservation for the degree holders in case of promotions.
The leaders also clarified that the fake degree holders from unauthorised universities were in no way linked with the Front and it held no responsibility for such cases.
The meeting was presided over by state media secretary of the union Dr Parminder Taggar. Dr Jaswant Singh Faridkot, Dr Sarabhjeet Singh Kundal, Dr Harjinder Singh Surewalia, Dr Rajbinder Surewalia, Dr Kulwinder Pal Singh and Dr Satish Kumar Giddarbaha attended the meeting.
