UK broadband speed still lagging
A global survey has highlighted just where the UK broadband network stands when it comes to the rest of the world.
According to research carried out by the Communications Workers of America (CWA) it has been found that the UK is lagging behind many countries in the developed world.
The survey puts the government' ' ' '' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' '' ' ' ' ' '' ' ' ' ' ' ' ' '' ' ' ' ' ' s Digital Report in its place, with the promise of a broadband connection of at least 2 Mbps for all, as this speed is dwarfed by the services available in other countries.
Currently the UK is outside the top thirty, the US is placed 29th with an average connection speed of 5.1 Mbps, but other countries have been quietly getting on with the roll out of super fast broadband.
These include Sweden with an average connection speed of 12.8 Mbps, and the Netherlands with 11 Mbps, but these are well below the number one on the broadband connection list, South Korea, with an average connection speed of 20.4 Mbps.
