DVRs can become a daily job

Freeview goes GiGo

Managing the storage on most digital video recorders (DVRs) can become a daily job, but a new device announced by Digital Vision could mean that set top box storage changes from a hard drive to methods that are more portable.

The GiGo DV DTR1 from Digital Vision comes with three USB ports and Freeview tuner.

This allows the user to record and store programming onto any form of USB memory device.

The user can then make a recording of their favourite programmes and play it back on any device that supports the USB device. The laptop seems to be the likely candidate.

As the Digital Vision GiGo DV DTR1 has no hard drive, it is less expensive than most DVRs.

At ' '   '  '' ' ''    ''  ' ' '   ''  '  ' '    '' 69.99 it is around ' '   '  '' ' ''    ''  ' ' '   ''  '  ' '    '' 20 cheaper than the lowest priced DVRs around.

However, the GiGo does offer the user an alternative method of storing content.
