Special Monitoring Cell teams raid 950 Schools across Punjab

On the directions of Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema, Education Minister Punjab, Special teams of the Education Department conducted surprise checks in 950 Schools of the State with the aim of ensuring punctuality and discipline in the Schools. Three Circles namely Jalandhar, Faridkot and Nabha (Patiala) were visited by the special teams at the same time.
Divulging the details Mr. Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (Secondary Education) who was supervising the checking, said that during the special checking total 60 teachers were found absent while 184 teachers were late whereas 32 teachers were found long time absentees. He said that immediately after opening the schools special teams visited 483 schools of Jalandhar Circle, 244 schools of Nabha (Patiala) Circle and 223 schools of Faridkot Circle.
DPI Mr. Dhol further said that 47 teachers were found absent in Jalandhar Circle and 150 were late comers while 15 found long time absentee. In Nabha (Patiala) Circle 7 teachers were found absent, 19 were late comers and 4 were long time absentee. Similarly, in Faridkot Circle 6 teachers were found absent, 15 were late comers and 13 teachers were found long time absentee.
Mr. Dhol said that to maintain discipline and punctuality in the Government Schools special and surprise checking would continue in future also. The Minister also directed to the senior officers that 100 percent attendance of the teachers would be ensured.
