Cabinet changes assembly session date for third time

Tribune News Service
Chandigarh, August 29

The Punjab Cabinet on Monday changed the dates of the Assembly session for a third time. The session will be held from September 8 to September 14. Passing of the GST is said to be the reason behind the change.

Initially, the session was to be held from September 5-9, which was subsequently changed to September 19-23.
Other decisions of the Cabinet on Monday included making Jandiala Guru a new sub-tehsil. This has been done for better revenue administration.

The nomenclature of 196 posts of Technical Education Department has been changed to Craftsmen Instructor after a central government scheme under which they were employed had lapsed.
