Principal of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Prof Atima Sharma, has been invited by Harvard University, USA, to present a research paper. She will be presenting a paper on ‘The Making of Global Citizens: A Vision and Challenges for Leaders in Education’.
Commenting on the paper, Prof Sharma said: “The particular research paper is based on a survey carried out in countries like India, China, USA and European nations.” Last year, she had attended a three-week-long programme on ‘Management and Leadership in Higher Education’ in Harvard University.
This year’s conference will be held on May 26.
Dr Sharma was the only Asian out of the 20 members to be selected to attend this prestigious leadership programme. She was among the 20 heads of institutions shortlisted after a process of interviews following which the candidates were selected.
Talking about her experience, Dr Sharma said, “As an academician it is a great honour for me to be sharing my vision with the best researchers here at Harvard University. Together with the leaders of global education, we have to devise common policies and strategies for our young generation. The topic of my Research paper is ‘Making of Global Citizens: A Vision and Challenge for Leaders in Education.’ Since, we live in a globalised world today, we have to nurture and develop our young people to be world citizens, who will bring about Peace Justice and Equality among all in this world.”
