Govt to constitute elementary directorate

NAKODAR: The Punjab government has decided to constitute an elementary directorate according to new policy of the central government. Classes from first to eight standard will come “under one school and one official”, an education department reply to social activist Aditya Bhatara has revealed. Assistant public information officer of education branch (VI) of the education department said the government had approved new policy for the upgradation of schools from primacy level to middle and high to senior secondary level. As per the policy, those high schools will be upgraded to senior-secondary level which have minimum student strength and sufficient land for the construction of 14 classrooms and a playground and a library.
