About the Project

The main objective of developing this web portal is to have a MIS and GIS system to monitor the delivery of quality education to all upper primary school children in Punjab in addition to administer and manage the internal functions of schools ensuring optimum utilization of the resources. With the effective administration and management of these schools, we hope to bring about transformation in the education system of the state. It is an initiative to universalize and improve quality of education through decentralized and context specific planning and a process based, time bound implementation strategy. The project is an idea to equip the State with specified knowledge and values to enable students to become good human beings and productive, socially responsible citizens and to achieve excellence in whatever they do.

We build a bridge for wider systemic reform and social, regional and gender gaps, with the active participation of the community in the management of schools. Unlike the earlier programmes on elementary education Punjab e-School Sikhya plans to serve the highest need for children, faculties and administrators. In this General Administration System the objective of this module keeps the complete track of information of the school administration.

An education system runs on three major pillars i.e. Children, Teachers and Schools. In order to run the education system smoothly it is very much required to handle manage all the three pillars efficiently. The above two systems take care of Child and Teacher. The third important module in MIS is the Infrastructure Record system that deals with the school infrastructure details.
The proposed system will be a web-based module that can be accessed through secured login by the school administrators. They can update the infrastructure details of their school building in regular interval.

GIS combines layers and layers of information about any location and puts them on a single map with accurate, reliable and timely data with better tools to manage them. This data can then be visualized, compared, measured and analyzed.

Faculty Information System will collects all the information about the teaching and non-teaching staffs from the point of recruitment onwards and including the data on qualification, work experience and their salary information, retirement information, case information, GIS details, loan details, recovery details, service book of the teacher etc.

Benefits:
Monitoring the delivery of education to school children, with full transparency.

Thrust on quality and making education relevant.

Institutional reform in the state.

Recognition of critical role of teacher and focus on the human resource development needs of teachers.

Institutional capacity building for improvement in quality.

Proposed Solution:
There are four kinds of user which will be useful for the proposed solution for Punjab e-School Sikhya.

School User:

In the proposed system every School user will have authentic users. They have to register with the system and the administrator will have to authenticate them. The registered user will have two options in the system to get them authenticated. If the School user fills the form and click on submit, this will go to the admin for authentication, but if the admin creates the portal user id then it doesn   t requires any authentication. The school user will manage their school related data only and generate report. He/she cannot access the data of the other school information.

Block User:

In this system every block user will be an authenticate users. Block user view the different type of reports related student, school and teacher.

District User:

In this system every district user will be an authenticate users. District user views the different type of reports related student, school and teacher.

State User:

In this system state user is the administrator. This person would be responsible for carrying the system forward. The role of this user is to enter the master data.
