JNU students, journalists attacked on court premises

NEW DELHI: A section of lawyers assaulted JNU students and journalists at the Patiala House court here on Monday just before JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar, arrested for sedition, was to be brought. Scuffles broke out as the protesting lawyers shouting "Bharat Mata ki jai" ordered the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students and journalists out of the courtroom, witnesses said.

ਨਵੀਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ, 15 ਫਰਵਰੀ (ਏਜੰਸੀ) - ਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਨਾਅਰੇ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ 'ਚ ਗ੍ਰਿਫ਼ਤਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਜੇਐਨਯੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਸੰਘ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਕਨ੍ਹਈਆ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਦੀ ਪੇਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਹਾਊਸ ਕੋਰਟ 'ਚ ਜੰਮ ਕੇ ਹੰਗਾਮਾ ਹੋਇਆ। ਪੇਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵਕੀਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਜੈ ਦੇ ਨਾਅਰੇ ਲਗਾਏ। ਇਲਜ਼ਾਮ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਹੰਗਾਮੇ ਦੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜੇਐਨਯੂ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਪੱਤਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੁੱਟ ਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
