CBSE announces NEET results

MUMBAI: The wait has ended for medical aspirants seeking seats in private institutes, deemed colleges and the all-India quota seats in state colleges. CBSE announced the combined results of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) - phase I and II on Tuesday - a day before the scheduled declaration of results.
Of the 7.1 lakhs students who appeared, 4.09 lakh students qualified in the test. Het Shah from Gujarat emerged the country topper with a score of 685 out of 720, followed by Ekansh Goyal from Odisha.
Of the total qualifying students, 2.26 lakh are girls. Around 19,300 students qualified for the the 15% all-India quota seats in government medical colleges across the country. Admissions to private and deemed institutes in Maharashtra will be done on the basis of students' NEET scores.
