   Nobody's Laughing But Iceland

Not again. Monday's Euro 2016 soccer loss to Iceland was a gut-punch to England's pride. But from Reykjavik to Nice, the party's raging for the island nation's 330,000 citizens after successes worthy of Nordic mythology, from defeating favorites England and Austria to holding powerhouse Portugal to a draw. With no Euro wins until this year, the team of underdogs heads to Paris on Sunday for a quarterfinal match against France - prompting a local Olympian to vow he'll swim around Iceland if it takes the cup. But in this saga, the outcome's far from a fait accompli.

Portugal Advances to Euro 2016 Finals, Sends Wales Home
The clock struck midnight. Wales' Cinderella run saw it take out Belgium and battle to a scoreless draw through halftime yesterday, but it couldn't last against Cristiano Ronaldo's brilliance and Portugal's depth. Ronaldo scored with a spectacular header at 50 minutes and assisted Nani's goal three minutes later to shut Wales down 2-0. Spirited Welsh fans still celebrated Gareth Bales and company's magical campaign that stokes hopes for World Cup qualifying. Today France and Germany play for the chance to face Portugal on Sunday for the title.

Host France Will Face Portugal in Euro 2016 Final

C'est magnifique! France captured its first win against Germany in a major tournament since 1958 with a 2-0 triumph Thursday. Germany dominated play, but the tournament's top scorer, Antoine Griezmann, was the only player who could find the net, with one goal in each half for the hosts. It was an emotional night in Marseille, as memories were stirred of last year's Paris terror attacks - which broke out during a France-Germany friendly. The win vaults Les Bleus into Sunday's final against Portugal.
