To kill or not to kill that is the question

We can understand the controversy over beef; it is a subject intertwined with spirituality and faith. But dogs? In no culture is the dog an object of canonical homage. But some shameless politicians just abled to make their carriers in Indian politics by showing mercy to animals but they seem no concern with human lives. We need to identify these thick skin people too, so we can drag out from political power. As there is no way to make them understand the issue of common people as they studied, barking dogs seldom bite.

In India, the British colonial administration introduced government-led dog eradication programmes in the 1800s. Post-independence, dogs continued to be killed by local authorities Ė both regularly and in response to complaints. Many countries have resorted to drastic action while many others have experimented with other means. In a single incident in China recently, 45,000 dogs were beaten to death. In Serbia 40,000 were killed in one go, in Rio de Janeiro 30,000. So, stray dogs have been killed in almost every country at some time or the other. And in most countries this is still happening.

If India have any better idea to control them, then just do it, but there is need to be have some plan to save humans lives. It is absolutely horrifying that our little babies and children are falling victims. Even there many cases of attacking two wheeler drivers by dogs and itís just impossible to reach home at night as too many dogs in the way. There are said to be 35 million strays in India. Every year crores of people encounter dogs, there is impossible to find a person in whole India who never ever faced this issue in his life.

We all need to do something personally, can't we ask our Councilors & Mayors to clear stand on stray dogs, can't they take steps to clear their areas from dogs, can't we imagine dog free community. Canít we file cases against all possible people, who are in authority to protect civiliansí lives.

There can be n number of reasons to kill dogs like, they unexpectedly jump in front of traffic. They bite innocent people. They create nuisance. They spread rabies. They form gangs and get into dog fights. They sleep all day and wake up everyone at night. People canít sleep properly due to their excessive barking. They kill other domestic animals.

But we hardly find any single reason to have so many stray dogs in our streets.

Even we fail to understand why cruelty on animal law does not apply on goats, pigs, hens, who are harmless, but why only dogs? Is manís life so cheap and dogís precious?
