Punjab sways to the silence of Radhey Maa

CHANDIGARH: After self-styled godman Nirmal Baba, it seems to be the turn of Radhey "Maa" to bask in the glory of her immense popularity.
Widely known among her "devotees" as the incarnation of Goddess Durga, Radhey Maa is a native of Hoshiarpur and prefers to stick to her vow of silence during her "darbars" where thousands flock to seek the blessings of "Maa", literally meaning mother.
The self-styled godwoman's popularity has grown so much by leaps and bounds over the past few months that walls across the length and breadth of all major cities of Punjab - be it Ludhiana, Patiala or Amritsar. Radhey maa is so popular that her follower list boasts of several celebs too. Her followers include popular Punjabi folk singer Daler Mehndi, Bhojpuri star Manoj Tiwari, TV star Dolly Bindra, Hans Raj Hans and many more.
The "jagratas" of Radhey Maa are held in major cities where renowned singers sing bhajans in her praise. The likes of Anup Jalota, Vinod Aggarwal, Sardul Sikandar, Master Saleem, Anuradha Paudwal, Roop Kumar Rathod, Narender Chanchal are among those who sing the tunes of Radhey maa.
