The union cabinet gave its approval for the draft National Medical Commission Bill, 2017. The bill will replace the existing Medical Council of India (MCI) and will bring more transparency.

The Bombay HC passed an ad-interim order in which it directed the Mumbai University to provide extra answer sheets to the students. This move by the HC came as great relief to the students who are yet to appear for their undergraduate and post-graduate exams. The petition regarding the issue was filed by a law student from the city in which he challenged the university’s circular on extra answer sheets.

Under the agreement signed by the Washington University in St Louis (WashU) and IIT Delhi, the Washington University will select the students from IIT-D and will help them in refining their skills. According to the agreement, IIT Delhi will become the partner of McDonnell International Scholars Academy of the WashU.

The SC made it clear that the disabled persons have right to education and if the adequate provisions are not made to facilitate the same, it would amount to discrimination against the disabled persons.
