Retirement fund body EPFO has decided to make all payments to its beneficiaries through electronic mode from September this year, including provident fund claims. “The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has decided to make 100 per cent e-payment of benefits by August 31, 2014,” a senior EPFO official told PTI.
The seventh Central Pay Commission that was hurriedly cleared by the Cabinet in February — just a few days before the model code of conduct came into force — is yet to have any office. The pay commission, headed by retired Supreme Court judge Ashok Kumar Mathur, had asked the Ministry of Urban Development for an office space measuring around 12,000 sq feet anywhere in Delhi. Citing paucity of such space, the ministry declined the request.

Treat daughters, sons equally for family pension: HC to state
The Supreme Court today said that there is no legal impediment for the President to dissolve the Delhi Assembly to pave the way for fresh election in the state. A bench headed by Justice R M Lodha, however, clarified that it is not passing any direction in any manner in this regard and it is for the President to decide on the basis of the facts and circumstances.
There is no criteria for fixing fees in private schools. RTI activist Rajkumar levelled this charge at a press conference here on Thursday. Talking to the press, he alleged that schools were looting thousands of rupees in the name of annual charges and the government hadn’t fixed any guidelines to prevent them from doing that.
