Three months paid leave for victims of sexual harassment
« on: July 18, 2015, 06:31:30 AM »
The sexual harassment complaints committees in government offices have been empowered to recommend grant of paid leave up to three months to complainants.

Extending relief to a complainant, the Department of Personnel and Training has included a provision in the guidelines for conducting inquiries, allowing the committee to transfer the aggrieved woman or grant her up to three months’ paid leave.

“The leave will not be deducted from her leave account,” an office memorandum says.

The guidelines prescribe that the woman has to lodge a complaint within three months of the last incident of harassment. However, the committee may extend the time limit if the reasons given for the delay are valid.
