Punjab announces ex-gratia in accidental death cases

Chandigarh, Apr 3 (PTI) The Punjab government today said that in case of accidental or homicidal death of an employee while discharging his or her duty, the legal heirs would be entitled to a payment of Rs five lakh as ex-gratia amount. The ex-gratia would not be linked to the basic pay or the group of the employee concerned, an official spokesman said here today. He further said that the full amount of payment admissible under these orders would also be payable to those employees, who incur complete permanent disability during the performance of duty rendering them unfit for further service. Similarly, in case of those employees, who incur partial permanent disability during the discharge of duty, ex-gratia payable would be proportionate to the percentage of partial permanent disability incurred by him. The spokesman clarified that the ex-gratia grant would not be admissible in the case of those government employees, who die committing suicide.

Chandigarh, April 3: The Punjab government has decided that in case of accidental or homicidal death of an employee during the performance of his duty, his legal heirs would be entitled to a lump sum payment of Rs. 5 lac as Ex-gratia amount.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Punjab government said that the ex-gratia would not be linked to the basic pay or the group of the employee concerned. The spokesman further said that the full amount of Ex-gratia payment admissible under these orders would also be payable to those employees, who incur complete permanent disability during the performance of duty rendering them unfit for further service. Similarly, in case of those employees�, who incur partial permanent disability during the performance of duty, Ex-gratia payable would be proportionate to the percentage of partial permanent disability incurred by him.

Chandigarh, April 3: Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today directed all the officers of the state government not to function from their camp office at their residences.
Disclosing this here today a spokesperson of the Chief Minister's office said that Mr.Badal had taken a serious note over the growing tendency amongst senior officers to operate from the camp office at their residences. Mr. Badal strictly warned such officer's to shun this un-desirable practice and asked them to function from their offices from 9 am to 5 pm. The Chief Minister impressed upon them to discharge their duties with utmost dedication, honesty and professional commitment in the public interests. He also asked the officers to maintain decorum and punctuality in offices to win over the confidence of the general public.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister also asked the officers to be present in their offices from9 am to 5 pm from Tuesday to Thursday every week to carryout official work besides listening to the grievances of the general public and directed them to keep their field visits and tours on other days. Mr. Badal categorically said that no complacency would be tolerated at any level in terms of ensuring good governance, clean and accountable administration.

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 2 ਅਪ੍ਰੈਲ (ਬਬ)-ਅਕਸਰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਬਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਖੱਜਲਖੁਆਰ ਹੋਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਵਲੋਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਖੱਜਲਖੁਆਰੀ ਤੋਂ ਨਿਜ਼ਾਤ ਦਿਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਨਿਵੇਕਲਾ ਉਪਰਾਲਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਜਲਦ ਹੀ ਜ਼ਿਲੇ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਟਰਾਇਲ ਨਗਰ ਨਿਗਮ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਫਲਤਾਪੂਰਵਕ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਜਲਦ ਹੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਆਮ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਹੋਏਗੀ। ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਇਹ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸੂਬਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਮਿਊਂਸਪਲ ਕਾਰਪੋਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੀ ਸਾਈਟ ਖੋਲਣੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਤੇ ਉਥੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਜਨਮ ਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ।
