Reservation for hearing on Nov.7
JALANDHAR: The Supreme Court deferred the hearing in the case related to reservation within reservation concerning scheduled castes of Punjab for Nov. 7.
Paramjit Singh Kainth, President of the Chamar Mahan Sabha, a caste based non government organization fighting for the cause of the scheduled castes and to protect their interests and rights said that during hearing of the case the two judge bench instructed the authorities to club all the related issues and then list the clubbed case for hearing on November 7 so that the court would go through the contents of the whole matter and decided the matter finally keeping in view the wider interests of the people belonged to the scheduled castes.
Kainth claimed that the Chamar Mahan Sabha hoped for a positive decision from the court, which will give a relief to these castes as the state government had tried to weaken the scheduled castes through such type of decisions, He clarified that he is not against any particular caste or community as far as this matter of reservation within reservation is concerned and only opposing the state government's wrong decision.
He said that he is fighting for the cause of the scheduled castes in a whole as he does not want to allow the allotment of the seats meant for the scheduled castes to the person's belonged to the general category in any way. He claimed that these seats reserved for the scheduled castes so how can we can allow transfer of these to the general category people.
