This refers to the Terminal of EDUSAT.

Edusat is the satellite fully devoted to educational puposes.

IT has some Satellite Interactive Terminals (SIT) Which send (May receive)signals to and from satellite:

Then Satellite Disperse these signals in remote areas of country.

ROTs  (Receive Only Terminal) can only catch these signals and u can watch the educational programs on ur TV.

Now a days New ROTs are establishing in Govt high schools.

Respected Friend,

R.O.T. may have many different meanings.

But in education department it is the name given to the type of Edusat technique.

Edusat has 2 techniques : 1. ROT         2. SIT

R.O.T. stands for :  Receive Only Terminal

This is the Edusat Setup (Edusat Class Room /Lab) where students can only watch/listen the lecture through the Edusat connected computers but they can not make cross questions. As this is Receive only terminal so only one way communication is possible.

In comparison to ROT another technique which is called SIT (Satellite Interactive Terminal) has the facility of two way communication, means students can interect with Lecturers through Edusat computers.

Thanks

Respected Hapreet Veer Ji,

As far as your second question is concerned :

As per my knowledge Department has supplied 2 Server (Computer/CPU) and 24 LCD monitors to each ROT Lab. So, I assume that 12 LCD monitors (along  with Headphone, Keyboard, mouse etc)  will be connected to each server.

These equipments are still not installed in my school, but I think that they will make this type of setup.

Thanks
